What Is A Camel Toe?

Camel toeing is a big clothing struggle for most women. It is a huge fashion faux-pas that many women have to deal with every day.  A camel toe is the slang term used in the fashion industry describing the appearance of a woman’s labia majora in tight-fitting clothes that resembles the forefoot of a camel.

Moreover, a camel toe is the flesh/fat of the outer folds (labia majora) of the women’s vulva and the vaginal line that appear underneath thin and tight clothing. Tight-fitting clothes include leggings, stretchy jeans, bathing suits, bikini bottoms, rompers, shorts, and other tight pants.

The camel toe becomes more visible when the woman’s mons pubis (the area in the crotch where pubic hair grows) is bigger.

What Causes A Camel Toe?

Unlike underwear wedgies where the fabric is wedged between the buttocks, a camel toe appears like an unwanted cleavage in the crotch region. But camel toeing is not unusual. It usually happens to every woman but rampant to those who have bulging mons.

A camel toe may be appealing to some men, but most women find it embarrassing and inconvenient, especially when seen in public. Some of the more plausible reasons for larger mons in both men and women are genetics, weight gain, and fat deposits.

Here are some compelling reasons why a camel toe might appear under your clothing:

1. Inappropriate fit

When you wear pants or leggings that are too thin in the crotch area, it is most likely to develop unwanted cleavage on your vaginal area. It may also occur in other tight-fitting outerwear such as jeans, shorts, rompers, and bathing suits.

2. Shaved vagina under tight jeans or leggings

If you already have oversized labia and you shaved your pubic hair for comfort, the most possible outcome is a camel toe. It is because that there will be no barrier between the clothing and your skin. The leggings/jeans’ might ride up into your labia forming cleavage.

3. When you go ‘commando’

Going ‘commando’ means wearing skin-tight jeans or pants without underwear. Most women are fascinated with a ‘panty-less world because they do not want visible panty lines while being free from other squeezing fabrics. But this may cause camel toeing due to the absence of a blockade between the outer clothing and the mons area.

How To Prevent A Camel Toe In Simple & Easy Ways

Camel’s toe is sometimes called the crotch cleavage, moose knuckle, ninja foot, and cock bulge. But whatever you may call it; you do not want it to happen to you. Here are some easy and simple techniques to avoid a camel toe:

1. Do not go commando

Most fashionistas do not agree with women going commando when wearing stretchy and thin fabrics. Instead, they advised women to wear thicker and seamless panties that will conceal lines and crevices within the crotch area. Moreover, thicker undies are most likely to provide a smooth appearance in the vaginal region.

2. Put a panty liner on your underwear

This method is what most women do to hide their camel toes. It is cheaper while you can wear either thin or thick pants or leggings. However, instead of putting the panty liner vertically, you have to wrap it around your underwear horizontally.

3. Crotch lining/gusset hides camel toe

When shopping for workout outfits, look for the one with built-in lining or gusset in the crotch. The lining provides an additional barrier between your private parts.

4. Take note of the fabric and the fit

Prevent wearing tights (like yoga pants) that have see-through fabric. Consequently, pick the one with a wide waistband that sits at the belly button or just below it. If the waistband is thicker, it will support the waist better, so you do not have to pull your pants often that may result in a camel toe.

5. Use tissue to hide camel toe

You need a camel toe hack on the go? So you suddenly see yourself in the mirror and see a visible camel toe? Make a run to the bathroom and pick up some toilet paper. Wrap it around your fingers 3 times, place it in your underwear after folding it in half. This should do the trick! Depending on the fabric you are wearing you can try placing it horizontally if it works best for you.

6. Purchase a camel toe guard

Also known as a camel toe cup guard or camel toe concealer, this little piece of silicone is a reusable insert with adhesive on one side. You can place it to either your skin or your undergarment of choice. Personally, I am not too confortable sticking it on my skin, I prefer applying it directly on the fabric.  Either ways give excellent results!

7. Wear a U-Bottom top

None of the tricks above are doable or enjoyable for you?  Then there is one solution left. Leave the camel toe as it is but hide it with a longer shirt.  U-Bottom tops are a great option for this since they are longer in the front and back but still short on the sides.  You can then cover up your camel toe in style!

How To Avoid Camel Toeing In Bathing Suits

One of the most effective ways to hide camel toe in bikini bottoms or in a one piece bathing suit, is using a silicone camel toe concealer, as mentioned before.  They are easy to order online and are not expensive.

The good things about these silicone concealers are its adhesive, water-proof, and reusable properties. They are excellent to get rid of camel toe in swimsuits.

You can use the concealer over and over until it lasts. The material is hypoallergenic, so it is guaranteed not to irritate your privates. It is ideal to use in preventing camel toeing when you are always on the water in the beach or swimming pool.

How To Get Rid Of Camel Toe In Leggings

Apart from looking for a gusseted crotch and other tricks mentioned above, when shopping for leggings or yoga pants, try to buy darker colors.

Black is the most recommended color of pants/leggings to minimize the appearance of a camel toe. But you can always wear the darker color you want, like green, navy blue, or purple.

Conclusion

So, you are now aware of the consequence of wearing tight and thin jeans, leggings, and other stretchy clothes (like bathing suits and bikinis), you can prevent, fix or hide a camel toe in various ways. This guide on how to get rid of camel toe will help you to choose the right outfit for you.

But if you insist on wearing those tight-fitting clothes, then, go ahead, and make your day right! You already know how to deal with a camel toe!
